The Storm Party
Thunder struck, my window burst open. In flew the wind my curtains waved and bounced as though they were being chased. Rain jumped in it was like a party of storm. Suddenly everything went quiet. At last dawn had come and the sun had risen.
I awoke from my doze and slowly opened my eyes and shut them again. I was as worn out as a old pair of old sneakers. I could barley move. My heart pounded with exhaustion. I got up but I fell down again I thought it must be the storm party.
I went into the lounge and slowly sat on the couch. sun shone through the window the storm never came back and the sun shone forever and every thing turned out fine. Tonight I would sleep well!!

Capital E
On friday the Ako Nui kids went to capital E. We had to travail on a bus to Wellington it was very fun because my class got to rid the doble decker bus.
We finally arrived at carnival of the animals.
When the show started it was quiet THEN!!! the music came on and they were all over the place. The people on stage were doing big flips and forward rolls plus back rolls too.
There were sharks swimming around and kissing the children. They smelt like plastic blowup balloons.
I felt excited because it was a cool preformance. It was cool how they hung up on the ropes and the hula hoops. They were clever.

Despite being so far away, there were ways for the soldiers on the front line to get in touch with loved ones back home.
In Britain, the Post Office worked hard to quickly deliver letters back and forth to the front.
On the front line, soldiers had their own postal system Pigeons.
Soldiers also needed to communicate with each other across different regiments.
Carrier pigeons transported messages from one place to another.
Pigeons have homing instincts and will always fly back to wherever their nests are.

The army made sure the pigeons nested near military bases.
Soldiers transported the pigeons with them and tied messages to the birds' legs.
On release, the pigeons then flew home, delivering the messages back to base.
